What is an NFT?

NFT stands for non-fungible token. It is a non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique.

The NFT contains metadata such as the rarities, high resolution images, videos and audio which are all stored on IPFS. IPFS is a distributed system for storing and accessing files, websites, applications, and data.

Because each token is uniquely identifiable, NFTs differ from blockchain cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin.
